Locum Band 5 Hospital Pharmacy Technician – Sheffield

Hunter Gatherer AHP have multiple locum opportunities for pharmacy technicians to join an esteemed NHS trust in Sheffield. The Chief Pharmacy technician for the department is looking for a qualified ACT to join the dispensary services on a full-time basis! This is a 6-month ongoing contract as this is a long-standing gap within the department.

As an accredited checking technician, the post holder will be responsible for the final check of patient’s medication & will also participate in the dispensing/supply of cytotoxic drugs. All activities within the dispensary are carried out in line with trust procedures and standard healthcare guidelines. The responsible technician will also be expected to counsel patients on their medications and take accurate drug histories in a clinical setting. The post holder will also be responsible to conduct medication adherence reviews and offer support to the inpatients/outpatients. This will be a mixed wards/dispensary-based post that is split 60:40 in regards to daily duties. 

PLEASE NOTE: You MUST be GPhC registered to apply for this locum role. If the applicant does not have prior NHS experience, they must hold a nationally accredited ACT qualification to be eligible for this role.

–       £16-21 per hour depending on experience
