Band 8a Clinical Pharmacist – Newcastle

Hunter Gatherer AHP have an excellent opportunity based with a large NHS hospital in Newcastle. The Chief Pharmacist is on the lookout for an experienced pharmacist to join the clinical division on a full-time locum basis. The post holder will work clinically to support the delivery of pharmacy services across the trust in order to achieve the best use of relevant medicines. There is an array of ward-based work to cover so there will be flexibility on this given a candidate's prior wards experience. The post holder will need to deputise for the Band 8b Pharmacist where necessary and would be line managed by the Deputy Chief Pharmacist.

Working hours are 9am-5pm w/ a 30 minute break – 7.5 working hours per day, 37.5 hours per week. For the right candidate, flexible days are acceptable depending on how the CV lands with the department – this is a 6 month contract which is likely to extend beyond that. Only GPhC-registered pharmacists with a minimum of 3-4 years clinical wards experience will be eligible for this position.

–       £34-36 per hour paid via Direct Engagement as a PAYE worker

–       Ongoing contract with 2 week notice period

–       Flexible leave + indemnity insurance covered
